The Institute of Medicine ‘s Roundtable on the Promotion of Health Equity and the Elimination of Health Disparities will hold a workshop on Monday, April 22, in Hartford, CT, at the Mark Twain House. The purpose of this workshop is to highlight the opportunities to promote health equity offered by the Affordable Care Act.
"Health equity" is a broader concept that encompasses more than just the reduction of disparities between groups. How can we ensure that health equity is infused into all aspects of the ACA implementation?
This workshop will look at the following issues:
• Expansion of coverage
• Patient Centered Medical Home
• Public/Private Partnerships
• Safety Net Challenges
• Consumer Engagement
